Can we split our Oracle EBS architecture/configuration from one tier/note to two tiers/notes without reinstallation?

We are currently on R12.1.3 and have been having the Application (middle) and Database Tiers all installed in one AIX server. Now we are planning to split them into two different servers (keep the DB tier on the existing node and MOVE the Apps tier to a new AIX node) for the security reason. Can we do that without needing to reinstall Oracle EBS?
