physru script failed

Hi

Has anyone used the physru. sh script ( as advsed by the MAA white paper), to do an upgrade of an 11.2.0.3 RAC database to 11.2.0.4?

The script in 3 phases,

I ran the first phase. This worked fine

Ran the 2nd phase, but after switching over and converting the orginal primary from a logical standby to a logical physical the script quits, complaining it cant mount the database.

I checked the alias the script was using it was correct. I was able to connect from the new primary to the new standby by using sqlplus and the alias in question.

Oracle couldn't fixed the issue, and suggested I follow the steps manually. I did this, but got a problem with the new standby complaining of:
