Upgrading an Oracle E-business Suite R12.0.6 Database to Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.4)

Hi,

Source OS : RHEL 4.6 ( Linux -64 Bit)

Node1 : Application (12.0.6)

Node2: DB (10.2.0.3) and Concurrent Manager

Apps Version : 12.0.6

Database: 10.2.0.3

Target OS : RHEL 5.x

Node1 : Application (12.0.6)

Node2: DB  ( 11.2.0.4)

We are performing upgrade in new server, keeping old server as it is.

Since R12.0.6 and 10.2.0.3 is not supported for RHEL 6.x , we opted to go for RHEL 5.x ( Do not have much downtime in production,cannot afford extra downtime to upgrade 10.2.0.3 to 10.2.0.5).

Approach :

1.Prepare the  RHEL 5.x Server as per Doc Oracle Applications Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.0.4) for Linux (64-bit) (Doc ID 416305.1)

2. Clone Old Application and Database to new Server  ( RHEL 5.x)

3. Again make sure all related OS Parameters and rpms for 11gR2 is installed ( Chapter 1 and the "System Considerations and Requirements" section of Chapter 3 of the Oracle Database Upgrade Guide 11g Release 2 (11.2).
