Siebel EIM: Suppress LAST_UPD

Hi All, 

We have a lot of interfaces which are looking up on data based on LAST_UPD timestamp. Now our client has requested for a DC to update huge no of records (Loyalty Members) with a boolean flag which is not of any relevance for any interfaces.

So we are planning to use EIM approach, but since we see a risk of LAST_UPD column getting updated and due to which the interfaces will be overloaded, which we want to stop.

Is there a way to suppress the updation of LAST_UPD column via EIM.
