MAC address 00:00:00:00:01:00 shows up for onboard 10G NET0 in my OSA (advanced \ cli \ ifconfig) but is correct (00:10:e0: etc) when I look at the same interface in my ILOM (System info \ networking).

The interface initializes correctly it seems as I am able to ping my upstream device via the OSA cli. Where does the OSA get this info? How can it differ from the ILOM? I’m new to this server and don’t yet fully understand the relationship between the hardware, OSA and ILOM. I don’t see how my OSA and ILOM are out of step.

I’ve tried changing the mac address in the 70-persistent.net.rules file and shutting off the NetworkManager service (including chkconfig off for the service) but when I reboot the server it relaunches NetworkManager and rewrites the 70-persistent file with the bad addresses. The same scenario is also playing out with the other 3 onboard interfaces with slight variations to the bad mac.

Howdy, Stranger!
