Moving a DB from 11g v1 tp 11g v2

hi

I'm planning to move an Oracle db (11g v11.2.0.1.0), which is currently sitting on a Windows server 2003 (R2). This is an Enterprise edition.

I want to move this DB to a new virtual server with a partition where Windows server 2012 is installed. I've just installed Oracle db Standard Edition, version 11.2.0.2.0.

I've also made sure that the drives have been named the same way on both servers, so that I can, hopefully use rnam to duplicate db from source (old ie current db) to target (new db). I'm saying hopefully, as I've already tried and failed in this. I just couldn't make duplicate command to work properly. The reasons could be one or more of these: different db versions, different db editions, different versions of windows (plus new server is on a virtual machine) and also the drives and folder set-ups weren't the same.
