How does the Transaction Reference field (TREF) get populated in the Item Ledger (F4111)?
We are interested in populating the Transaction Ref field in the item ledger with information generated by our inventory barcode system. When I evaluated the field I found it was, in some cases, being populated with data (i.e. Work order document type). I am trying to understand what causes information to be populated he. If this is not a viable option for storing "additional information" in the ledger, can anyone recommend an alternate, user defined field?
