I'm not an AD admin, and the admins I've been working with don't seem to have much of a clue about how to set up AD to support WIA SSO requirements.

This is what I think I've figured out from googling:

  • a custom AD Access Control List (ACL) is needed
  • the ACL is applied to the AD account for the security adapter user (Application User)
  • the ACL allows access to Organizational Unit (OU) for enterprise user accounts (BaseDN)
  • the ACL restricts access to only enterprise user accounts who are also Siebel users
