Copy and paste of URL bringing to homepage not item object

From an item, we are selecting 'Copy URL to Clipboard' from the Actions menu.

The URL when pasted with Ctrl-V, into an IE browser address bar or into an email, etc, will bring users to the homepage (Dashboard, Notifications, etc) instead of bringing them to the object.

Does anyone have suggestions to fix?
