OS Backup of Bare Metal

I have several ODAs with all but one being Virtualized.  I have no problem  understanding how to back up the VMs.

However, what is the strategy for backing bare metal nodes? How would one restore? The same can be asked about the dom0 nodes. I know the disks are mirrored, but there could always be a catastrophic issue.
