Active/Passive pairs on 2 sites - only one GI and Oracle installation

Hi,

I am new to active/passive hardware clustering, and took over a project from a colleague who left recently.

We have 4 database servers, 2 each as a pair of active/passive nodes. One pair at primary site and the other pair at DR site.

There is only one installation of /u01 and one set of +DATA and +FRA floating across all 4 servers.When we did DR exercise last week, Oracle services did not start at the DR site as the *.olr for that server was missing.  Please may I know if this setup is correct ? is this supported by Oracle support ? can we copy one of the *.olr and modify its content (I do not think so personally)
