If custom applications were registered prior to upgrade from 11.5.10.2 to 12.2 do I still need to ru

I am at the section of the upgrade where it states, "Integrate custom objects and schemas (conditional)." This is prior to enabling online patching. The custom applications show up in the Applications form, but the TOPs have not yet been copied from 11.5.10.2 to 12.2.5. Once I copy them to $APPL_TOP, do I need to run adsplice again? In our 11.5.10.2 the custom tops are defined in the $APPL_TOP/custom.env file as well. Would this be the same in 12.2?
