Oracle Fixed Assets capitalization issue

Hi

Currently, we are using PA>CWIP>FA. Our property management people would like to be able to inventory items before they are officially capitalized.  It is a our new requirement.  But, now, they have to wait until an item is placed in service.  We are wondering whether the FA-based process will enable the inventory function (adding an  property item) before the capitalization/depreciation activity.

We are also concerned about the impact on the accounting…we don’t want to double count anything.
