Is standalone Oracle Configurator deployment possible?

We don't want to deploy Oracle Configurator with the other modules of Oracle EBS since EBS upgrade may impact configurator. Thus we are thinking about whether it is possible to deploy Oracle Configurator in another server without enable any other EBS modules(similar as Oracle APS). And if it is possible, what impacts or risks do we need to consider?
