Wants Report output across two instead of down

Hi

we are changing a text report output to rtf format.

we have serial numbers in the output which can go up to 100+ and we want output serial number to display in 2 or may be 3 across not in downward. Because of downward output there is lot of wastage of paper.

Please look at the current and desired output in attached file. width of column should be fixed. can this be achieved in rtf format?? if yes how? any prompt help will be helpful
