How to hide My Checked Out Assets region in SSW eAM page

Using Self-Service Work Requests responsibility, (42114 - EAM_ASSET_MANAGEMENT_WR_JSP) eAM managers are asking to have the 'My Checked Out Assets' region removed from the Home Page.   (CheckedOutAssetsV01?)  I saw where this was introduced with a patch, but is there a way to hide this region for this using personalization or anything?
