How to 'Exclude' employees from receiving a printed W2?

Currently our W2s are being mailed to employees and they are also accessible via self-service.   We would like to decrease the volume of W2s being mail every year.    To accomplish this, last year we tried creating an Assignment Set to ‘Exclude’ employees who only wanted an electronic W2.  However, the W-2 PDF output was blank so we were unable to use the Assignment Set.

   

We are looking for a solution for this year.


Any suggestions?
