MRP Planned Safety Stock Who Uses This And What Are The Issues?

Curious who might use MRP Planned Safety Stock. We run an unconstrained plan with some limited use of non-transient safety stock. I am thinking there are some nice advantages to MRP Planned Safety Stock but this will take some good selling to get users to embrace. ANy and all feedback is welcomed. We are on 12.1.3
