auth-attribute on Session agent configured, but still is passing the 401 to IP PBX

I configured auth-attribute for authentication with my VoIP provider. However, i still see the 401 passed on to the IP PBX behind the SBC? Any thoughts...? I am on version 6.4 and trying with Virtual SBC before I implement the same on the 3820.
