Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Hi,

As root, I'm trying to add users and provide a passwd, but I receive the following error:

passwd: Unexpected failure: Password database unchanged.

passwd [974]: [ID 301508 auth.alert] passwdutil: crypt_gensalt Invalid argument

Permission denied.

How can I resolve this?
