Oracle 11.2.0.4  SE-one, 64-bit, Windows Server 2012

No RAC.  No DataGuard.  Just a simple, single instance database.

One of our 3d party apps is undergoing an upgrade with the assistance of a tech rep from the vendor.  Late yesterday I received an email from him reporting  ORA-12520 on a delete statement using a db_link.  On investigation the db link is 'self referencing',  That is, in database DEV the db link is referencing database DEV.  Seems silly, may not be relevant, but is an interesting observation.

More observations:

"Conventional wisdom" seems to keep pointing to increasing the 'processes' parameter of the database. I recently (at vendor's request) increased it from 150 to 200 and vendor has asked to increase it again.   But it doesn't appear we ever hit the max:

Howdy, Stranger!
