FSFO use cases

In our sorting out of FSFO conditions and test results with Oracle SMEs, we need your input on two issues:

  1. 1. Whether or not you think that losing a datafile on the file system (and having the database mark it “offline” as far as the catalog goes), warrants a condition worthy of a failover. There are two choices here. One is keep the database running and restore and recover the missing file from backups, not impeding the rest of the database operation. The other is to always failover to the standby site where this file is intact and continue processing there. Right now this condition is not producing reliable failover results. Oracle SMEs are arguing that a missing file being marked
