Exporting XML Publisher ouput t over 65,000 records

HI,

We are using .XLS(excel 2003) template in XML publisher Reports.

as it excel 2003 we are unable to get all 1lakh records in one sheet.

so i tried to download the original template

and followed TWO diffeent approaches but still ididnt reach my target.

1. Saveas (.xlsx) .but while uploading this template i am getting :INVALID file foramt:please upload excel"

2.using Convert option i tired it .it is getting error out as"

java.io.EOFException

  at oracle.cabo.share.util.MultipartFormHandler._readLine(Unknown Source)"

please help me how to get more than 65,000 records in one excel.

how can we upgrade our excel format and it  successfully updates.
