OS disk mirroring and replacement

Dear all,

I'm facing a quite surprising situation about local disks replacement and backup.

In several discussions we spoke about backing up the local nodes disks by using the RAID mirroring. The idea was to replace one disk to keep the previous one as backup of the current state in case of full restore or for instance upgrade rollback.

We tried to implement it as backup strategy on an X5-2 ODA from begin of 2015 and therefore ordered by Oracle 2 additional disks (1 per local node).

Unfortunately when we removed one of the original disk and added one of the new, nothing happened...
