How to create a Service Agreement based on an IB Instance?

Hi,

We are working on a data conversion to bring in device Shipping history information into IB for those instances that are still under warranty and subsequently we needs to get the contracts created. However, these warranties would have a past start date.

As per the BOM Setups, we cannot setup BOM Components for a past date (effective start date), which inturn wouldn't create the contract automatically while creating the IB instance with an Install date as a past date.

To Achieve this, I believe we can create service agreement orders in OM linking to these IB instances to create the Contracts which is the standard process. However, this requires Sales orders to be created in OM.
