GM_PT_STAGE abended in Grant Module

I would appreciate your input on below issue.

ISSUE :

Client reported that Month end JOB GM_PT_STAGE abended because of unique constraint error.

OUR ANALYSIS :

There is a partially paid item which is linked to a contract in Grants. There are two lines for this item in ITEM_ACTIVITY with entry types ‘IN’ and ‘PY’. This item is in open status as it is partially paid. When we run ‘Staging Award/Project Data’ (GM_PT_STAGE) process, the process goes to error with unique constraint error as both the invoice and payment lines are picked up for this contract. We are unable to provide a work around solution for this issue because the GM_PT_STAGE refreshes the data for contracts every time it runs i.e, deletes and reinserts the data
