Hyperion Upgrade - Finding new functionality

I have what I hope is a simple question...

A client is upgrading from Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.3 to 11.1.2.4. This is my first Hyperion upgrade.

As a BA, I need to do a comparison of the two re functional changes.

(I ran the CFO and, although it gives lots of information, I find it too high level.)

So, I went to the release documentation.

My question is..do I look at just the new features for Hyperion Planning? Or do I also need to plook at Essbase, Smartview, Calc Manager as Planning uses Essbase, Smartview and Calcs?
