Oracle 11GR2 RAC SE upgrade to Oracle 12C RAC SE2

We have a customer that wants to upgrade from 11GR2 RAC SE to 12c RAC SE2, the nodes are 2 CPU, 8 core. Will 12c RAC SE2 ignore one of the CPU's or do we have to manually remove one CPU from each node ?
