12.2.5 Location LOV includes the site uses - what's the purpose and how to get rid of "duplication"

In 12.2.5 I see that when a user wants to enter an address Current Location and Install Location the selection list now included each site use for the given address. Why is this here and how do we filter this. Use case, there is only one Address as a customer, so I type in the start of the address, let's say "1" and tab, if only 1 address matched that I expect that address to default, but instead the Quick Select window opens up and shows the address repeated for each site use. The is a change from 12.1.2/3. For
