Ability to make DFF field non-editable in RO workbench/tech portal

Hello,

We have requirement to make a DFF attribute non-editable  in RO workbench and tech portal. This DFF field will be a LOV field with Yes/No option. SR/RO will be created from an external portal. Values passed from external portal  will be populated in the DFF field when SR/RO is created.

Want to check is it possible to make DFF field  ready only/non-editable. Reviewed metalink notes and other sources see that DFF fields cant be made non-editable for the requirement we have. Please advise  if this understanding is correct.   Suppose if we have functionality to  make DFF non-editable , can the same  (non-editable) in tech portal too .
