Document Sequence Assignment Method Null does not work in many cases.

We have define document sequence with Assignment Method as Null.

While importing Journals, it went into error hence, we have created document assignment with Automatic and Manual and records successfully imported.

Sequence Profile is set as "Always used"

Then what is the use of Null Assignment method?
