Does a Rehire Cause Recruitment Applications to be Withdrawn?

Hello,

We have a temporary employee who applied for a number of internal positions.  She had a brief termination, and upon rehire, her active job applications were changed to withdrawn.  The last_update_date fields on the assignments suggest the applications were withdrawn upon rehire, not termination.  Does a rehire cause applications to be withdrawn? I would like to confirm this before I present it as the explanation.
