Oracle database shows Enterprise after patching in 9i

Hi all,

I have a problem with an old database 9i on AIX. We did not touch this server in the last 10 years and still has some data which we use as repository.

We had a license for Oracle Standard Edition, but after patching to 9.2.0.5 (long time ago) it started showing Enterprise Edition in the V$VERSION.  We did not care much about this, also because if we run the installer it shows that Standard Edition is installed. Now Oracle requested a check on our systems and we provided everything they asked. The problem is that they are claiming we are using an Enterprise Edition and want us to pay for 15 years of licenses.
