Forecasting Value instead of Units in RDF

Hello,

We are implementing RDF 14.1 for and the customer wants to try and see if we can forecast the value instead of units.

The approach was to get the units forecasted at item level and then value it with the regular price or promotional price to get the forecast in value.

Now the customer is asking why the value itself cannot be forecasted using AutoES and get the output forecast in value.

Does the functionality/logic holds good for using Forecasting techniques on values? Has any retailer attempted this and got convincing results?
