Assign Item Group-Multi Receiving/Shipping Location in Mass

Is it possible to assign item groups to items for the multi-receiving/shipping preferences to more than one item at a time? The Client has thousands of items that need assignment of item group for this preference but we're only able to assign the item group to one item at a time in P40072.
