Create Accounting Assets - performance

Dear Oracle Performance Gurus,

The Create Accounting - Assets process runs for about 15 hours during the month-end close for the last 3 month-ends. Nothing seems to have changed from the Application setup/Database end so we are at a loss as to how this can be fixed. Please can anyone point me to suggestions on how this program can be tuned? Thanks
