Is it possible to get a parts list from a quote?

We are working on implementing the generation of quotes of configured items from within JDE.  However, we haven't been able to figure out how to create a parts list/bill of materials from the quote.  The only way we've been able to do it is to convert the Quote to a Sales Order, create a Work Order and then run Work Order processing to attach the parts list.  Is there a way to do some kind of proof parts list/bill of materials from the quote itself?
