Putting Entire Order on Hold/Backorder if any detail like in it is backordered

Hello There,

While order entry, say there are 3 order lines and 2 of them are going to be back-ordered. Is there a way to automatically instruct the system to put the entire order on backorder/hold.

Can Partial order hold be used in this situation. If yes, do we have any white paper on the same.
