Seeded Flowbuilder component issues

Hello -

I am new to OATS and Flowbuilder.  We are utilizing Flowbuilder version 12.5.0.2 with the Starter Pack for 12.2.4.  What is the best course of action when we encounter delivered components that produce errors due to incorrect functionality/navigation.  Is an SR needed for each separate component issue?   And if it is deemed that the component is not correct, how does that get corrected for future releases?

We've only just started working with Flowbuilder but already we've encountered 4 scenarios where we are forced to create a custom component and not due to a customization in our system but to either include missing fields or correct faulty navigation.  It was my understanding that the components should be very plug-n-play and typically the only circumstance where it is necessary to create a custom component is when we are trying to meet our own customization.  Am I correct in making that statement?  We are trying to come up with a strategy for building our test scripts.  It seems to
