Installing Samba Patch 119757-XX in multi-user-server without reconfiguration reboot?

Hello All.

The Solaris 10 samba patch 119757-XX requires a reconfiguration reboot right after installation. We may expect the same requirement for the next revision (maybe 119757-37) of this patch which will address CVE-2016-2118 (BADLOCK) .

In some situation it is not feasible to do a reboot  (customer rejecting downtime requests for weeks - don't ask me for reasons).

But the customer may be convinced to accept a confined downtime for the samba service.

My idea is:

  1. Stopping all samba services in global and non-global zones (if running). The section "Special Install Instructions" in the samba patch readme file gives a hint for this.
