Maintaining a FY (fiscal year segment) in accounting flexfield COA

We are considering adding FY( fiscal year) segmant to accounting flexfield. FY/fund/office/program/object/....  Will all of the default GL accounts  (i.e. Payables financial options) have to be changed every year. If you use FY, please send detials of how you maintian the default GL accounts trhroughout EBS
