Upgrading to 12c. RMAN repository resides in the OEM respository.

Our OEM is at 12.1.0.3 with an underlying 11.2.0.3 OMR intance.

Our application DBs are all at 11.2.0.1.

Our RMAN repository resides in the OMR.

We are upgrading our application DBs to 12c.

I presume that we must then use RMAN 12c to perform backups.

Can we simply upgrade the underlying OMR instance to 12c to run RMAN 12c?

Does the entire OEM have to be upgraded to upgrade the underlying OMR?

Does the RMAN repository have to somehow be transformed/upgraded to be useable as a 12c RMAN repository or is upgrading the instance enough?
