Too many archive logs

Hello,

We moved schemas from one database to another. The space allocated was sufficient - more than that of current + merged database.

For a couple of months we saw increase in activity, which is expected. But in this last month, the number of archives keeps on increasing. We have an archive every 3 to 5 mins, size ~200mb.

We generally keep backups for a week. I reduced the number of backups ( snapshots) for this database. This reduces the space but it then is used up by the backups.

I used scripts from the web to find top io pct usage. It shows DBW0 as ~ 90%.
