what is the process of upgrading Linux on Exalytics from v 5 to 6?

what is the process of upgrading Linux on Exalytics from v 5 to 6? Can this be upgraded like a patch? or do we need to do a reimage of entire OS (wiping out all applications and data) on server?

Highly appreciated for your inputs / suggestions.
