ASCP recommendation

Hello!

Initially there is a sales order demand qty of 100 pcs and a matching purchase order qty of 100 pcs. If subsequently the sales order demand is reduced to 50 pcs, what action would ASCP recommend? Would it recommend to cancel the entire purchase order qty of 100 pcs and create a new planned order for 50 pcs?
