Database consolidation and CPU load

Hi,

Here's my environment :

Virtual machines hosted on ESX monopro 6 cores.

OS Windows

n Databases servers installed on n virtual machines

Database version 11.2.0.4

In my environment, I noticed that :

One database instance = one oracle.exe Windows process

That process runs on 1 OS CPU, that means my instance use 1 OS CPU and nothing more.

Besides, that means that allocated more than one CPU on my OS for one instance is useless.

Am I right ?

Here's my problem :

I want to consolidate all my databases on one virtual machine (using schema consolidation or Oracle multitenant).

According to what I noticed above :

If I use schema consolidation, I will have 1 instance, so 1 oracle.exe for all my databases (whereas I had n oracle.exe before), that means probably It won't be enough to support the CPU load.

Howdy, Stranger!
