Can you use FDMEE's Data Synchronization feature to move data from Classic EPM App to EPMA-enabled E

I would like to know if it is possible to move data using FDMEE's (v11.1.2.4) data synchronization functionality from a Classic Planning/Essbase application to an EPMA-enabled HFM application, or vice versa? All applications are on version 11.1.2.4, and the general assumption is that Planning and Essbase are Classic apps, while HFM is an EPMA-enabled application. Can we use FDMEE to move data (since standard data sync is out of the question)
