Does SAN replication impact the performance of Essbase

Hello,

     We are working on upgrading our Essbase environment and our current disaster recovery process relies on tape backups and a dedicated Essbase instance setup on a DR site.  We were looking into setting up a SANs replication with our technology team but are unfamiliar with any performance impacts that would have on our application.  The application itself runs multiple user loads throughout the day and performs a series of calculations, many of which create data.  We are afraid if a replication process would be setup it would impact those processes, i.e cause them to run longer and impact our
