Can any one suggest step by step process to build a site in webcenter sites?

Can anyone suggest on the process in detail to develop a site in webcenter sites. I am bit confused when we can create a site in server itself and when we will start the development in ecclipse.

I want to create a basic hello world project in webcenter sites and deploy it in server and want to test the same with integration with Oracle UCM.

Please suggest any document in suggestion to this.
