Is possible install webcenter Sites satellite 12c without a database?

in oracle documentation i have seen the following:

"The WebLogic domain and OPSS require a DB connection, since as MiddleWare we are installed using OPSS, thus  we require a DB as well for all products, this means that the DB is required for Satellite Server and there is nothing that can be done to remove that requirement in 12c. 

Please note that the DB for RSS does not need to be the same as Sites or even the same DB type as Sites, for instance Oracle Express could be used for RSS while Oracle Enterprise is used for Sites, refer to the supported DB matrix for WebLogic 12c for a complete list, as such there need be nothing opened between Sites and RSS other than the HTTP(s) port, this has not changed with 12c."
